Woman Arrested for faking a bingo cheque
There a few things that can tarnish the great world of bingo more than a bingo criminal! And fewer crimes are worse in bingo than deception and theft.
The incident took place in Brooksville, USA when a woman called Amanda Thomas was recently arrested for forgery in her local bingo hall. Amanda entered the Masaryktown Community Centre and went immediately to the cashier with two packs of bingo cards.
One of the packs of bingo cards was for $57 while the other for $54. Additionally, she purchased a further pack for $2 bringing the grand total to $123. In the police report it states that Amanda Thomas allegedly wrote out a cheque for $155. However she used the company name of Nu-Tech Carpet Master Inc, and signed it under the name of ‘Jennifer Wood’.
As Amanda left the bingo hall she was approached by the police. She identified herself as Jennifer Wood which was obviously her false name and also produced a fake I.D. card with photo included! However, upon being detained and subsequently transfered to the local police station Amanda admitted to having used a false name to sign the cheque. She claimed that she had found the chequebook on the ground and the I.D in the bathroom of a local Walmart supermarket. Unlikely story!
Amanda Thomas was arrested on the count of felony forgery, uttering a forged instrument, use of an I.D. card with criminal intent, and petty theft! She was subsequently taken to the County Jail at Hernando where she was placed under a $4,250 bail. This is definitely a good example to illustrate that crime does not pay and that you should never resort to crime to enjoy a game of bingo.
