Gala Bingo UBC at Gibraltar
The Ultimate Bingo Championship finals took place in Gibraltar just a few days ago. After six long months of bingo competition and regional playoffs, the finalists for the 2011 edition were announced on the Gala Bingo website and jetted off to sunny Gibraltar to compete for the top prize and enjoy a nice holiday in a great destination.
After an enduring series of months playing bingo 6,000 players from all over Britain remained for the semi finals on 21st August . The prize for securing a place in the finals was an all expenses paid trip to Gibraltar and a chance to win £20,000 and a vacation for two to Sin City itself, Las Vegas. In total, more than 60,000 thousand players from 142 clubs across Britain, plus online players from galabingo.com competed for the prize but only 154 made it to the finals.
The finals took place from Monday 7th November to Wednesday 9th November. The 154 lucky bingo players came to Gibraltar for a chance to bad a whole heap of cash as well as visit one of the most enigmatic places in the British crown. This unforgettable bingo experience will stay with these players whether they win or not.
In Gibraltar, players and their families will have been able to stay in a luxury hotel and visit the main tourist attractions like St.Michael’s Cave, The Great Siege Tunnels, the WWII tunnels and the Barbary macaques. They will also have been able to do some tax free shopping in Gibraltar’s popular and busy Main Street and eat in some great restaurants.
The grand Gala Casino in Gibraltar is a very attractive casino with all the action you would expect from any top casino anywhere in the world. The entertainment there is guaranteed day or night. In the final event players were greeted at a champagne reception and then treated to live entertainment from the Dixieland jazz band, a spot of cabaret and a tribute to Abba.
All this was followed by loads of special bingo games and a VIP dinner at one of the top restaurants in Gibraltar, the Waterfront Restaurant in Queensway Quay, located in one of the most exclusive spots on the Rock.
