How to Play Keno
Keno is a bit like the lottery in that you have to guess which numbers will be drawn by a machine. There are 80 numbers in the grid and you must select between (usually) 3 and 10 numbers much like in the way the numbers are chosen in the lottery.
The rules are quite simple and quite like the lottery but with a different twist since the number of numbers you choose will determine how much of the prize you will be taking should you draw the winning combination.
Numbers are selected by clicking on them on the grid and you can choose between 3 and 10. The choice of numbers is not fixed and can be undone at any point before the numbers are drawn. The next step to click on one the buttons that tell the machine how many rounds you are playing with those numbers. You can usually either play 1, 2, 5, or 10 rounds in one go.
When you have finished placing your bet twenty numbers will be called and drawn for each round of betting. When a drawn number corresponds to a number that you have chosen on the grid a star will appear. These winning numbers usually remain on the grid in case they are your lucky numbers and you wish to reuse them for the next series of rounds.
The payout amounts can be significant if you place the maximum number of bets on the grid and these come out as winners.
| Numbers placed on grid | Numbers hit by draw | Odds of winning |
| 1 | 1 | 3 / 1 |
| 2 | 2 | 16 / 1 |
| 3 | 3 | 71 / 1 |
| 4 | 4 | 325 / 1 |
| 5 | 5 | 1,549 / 1 |
| 6 | 6 | 7,752 / 1 |
| 7 | 7 | 40,878 / 1 |
| 8 | 8 | 230,114 / 1 |
| 9 | 9 | 1,389,686 / 1 |
| 10 | 10 | 8,911,702 / 1 |
Just to put into perspective the chances of winning the UK National Lottery are 1 in almost 14 million, so the odds of winning the big one at Keno are that little bit better! Having said that the odds of being struck by lightning in any given year are one in a million... At Bingo Power we don't like to dissuade anyone from playing Keno, but unless you are a keen keno fan we suggest sticking to bingo if you want more realistic odds of winning!
